Private Trek West Adventure with Matt Shannon

Matt’s photography is the product of his adventuresome heart - it’s the physical representation of his love for striking landscapes and beautiful natural creations. Matt has created images that have captured an international audience and his  artwork  hangs in homes around the world. He has developed a keen eye for detail and a passion for striking images. He is an enthusiastic teacher and hosts regular workshops aimed at inspiring and equipping photographers. 

COVID - Please read below.
Note, due to COVID requirements, if you have been sick in the last 14 days or have been with anyone that has been sick or in quarantine for the last 14 days, please do not attend the private lesson. Face masks are mandatory during instruction use if participants are closer than 2M (6 feet) from Matt Shannon.  ​

What to BRING (depended on survey):

• Camera body (preferably a camera that is a DSLR or mirrorless where all settings can be    changed manually).     
• Memory cards (depending on the size you have).​

     Bring what lenses you have. Below are examples:  

• Wide angle lens such as 14-30mm (or close to it).
• Mid range zoom such as 24-70mm or 24-105/120mm.
• 105mm macro lens if you have one.
• Telephoto lens such as 70-200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800. 
• Lens filters (bring what you have but DO NOT buy anything for the Lesson.  You will learn what to get at the lesson itself).
• Camera bag (at least water resistant if possible).
• Camera rain cover.
• Lens clothes.
• Water bottle.
• Rain pants.
• Rain jacket.
• Warm jacket / heavy sweater.
• Hiking boots. 
• Rain cap or hat that is waterproof.
• Tripod (a tripod is a big bonus to get tack sharp images).
• Pen and small note pad.

What is or can be included:

• Photography instruction one-on-one with Matt.
• Transportation in the Trek West JEEP.
• Customized Lesson through Zoom or in in the field.
• Demo equipment such as tripods and filters.
• Additional equipment discount code for registered participants.
  • F-stop gear, FLM tripods, Topaz labs, The Print Lab ect. 
• Snacks! once booking is confirmed an email requesting dietary restrictions will be sent. 
• Bottled water, carbonated water or water for refillable water containers are available.​

What is NOT included:

• Your camera gear.
• Lodging. 
• Personal protective equipment from the elements.
  • ​ie: rocks, mud, weather, traffic, allergies.
  • Waiver must be signed before Lesson is to begin.*​
• Meals depending on Customized Trek West Adventure Package.

Payment & Cancellation Policy:

Hours.

• Minimum 1 day (6-8 hour) bookings are required for a Trek West Adventure.
• Additional $1.19 per-km fees will be applied.   
• For locations exceeding 2 hours of travel time, 2 day lessons or more are encouraged to get the most out of the experience. 
• Price for 6 Hours: $989 Cdn + 5% GST following the location guidelines and km fees listed above. Reduced rates below:  
  • Additional participant booking is 50% discounted. (Ex; $449.50 as a second participant in a 8 hour Trek West Adventure)
  • Please email [email protected] if you wish to book a multi-day adventure and see the list of highlights to visit and photograph. 
• Price for 8 Hours: $1,159 Cdn + 5% GST following the location guidelines and km fees listed above. Reduced rates below:  
  • Additional participant booking is 50% discounted. (Ex; $575 as a second participant in a 8 hour Trek West Adventure)

• Scheduled lesson is held rain or shine.
• No refunds for inclement weather.
• Liability waiver must be signed prior to Photography Lesson. 

​​For 1 Day Private Session

• No refunds for cancellations 24hrs prior to scheduled photography lesson. Cancelations  48 hours or more refund is given less a $150 + GST admin fee.  There are no refunds given for any other reason.  

​​For Multi-Day Private Session

• No refunds for cancellations 7 days prior to scheduled photography lesson. Cancelations  14 Days or more refund is given less a $150 + GST admin fee.  There are no refunds given for any other reason.  
• Full refund given if Matt is not able to provide the Photography Lesson (i.e. sick or injured).
• Payment accepted by PayPal, e-transfer to [email protected]a. Invoice with details and payment link will be given at time of booking.
