Smoky Aura
My wife and I completed a 5 day canoe trip on Maligne Lake in the Canadian Rockies. You can only access this location by boat which makes this location pristine and quiet. Due to the smoke blowing in from nearby forest fires, I had to adapt my creative approach with the changing views. Normally you could see glaciers, unique cliffs and rock formations along the lake but not on this day. I first position the canoe as the subject inline with the mountain valley. I set up my Nikon D850 low to the bow of the canoe on my FLM tripod. I then mounted my 77mm Lens Adaptor from LEE Filters so I can support my 150mm LEE Filters Polarizer and Mount. LEE Filters Polariser cut glare off of the water, and more importantly off of the edges of the canoe. I then added a 0.6 ND grad filter to darken the bright sky for a well balanced image.
